LaGrange Rotarian of The Year
Guidelines/Criteria
Purpose
To select an individual who is a member of the LaGrange Rotary Club who has demonstrated outstanding service in the following areas:
1. Involvement in Rotary activities
2. Community involvement
3. Introduced at least one new member to the club
4. Contributing money to the club or Rotary International
Leadership roles in Rotary activities (projects) should take preference over just participation in various events. The nomination should also list community involvement activities and again leadership roles should be weighed higher than just being a member of an organization.
Eligibility
A member in good standing of the LaGrange Rotary Club who has successfully completed at least one year of service. The current President (Joe Schoenbaechler) is not eligible for selection nor is the selection committee members (listed below).
Committee Selection
A committee shall be appointed by the Board to accept the nominations and conduct the selection process. In future years the current year recipient will be appointed to this committee. The chairperson of this committee should be rotated annually. Members should be appointed to this committee for a two year term. The selection committee members for 2009 are:

Nominations
Nominations can be made from the membership of the club. Nominations must be submitted no later than May 12, 2009. Club members will notify the committee of nominations and provide the committee with justification for the nomination. The committee can also make nominations and they will investigate the candidate and make their selection based on the criteria identified above.
Recognition
The club will donate $1,000 or some other dollar amount toward a Paul Harris recognition for this individual recipient. The recipient will be honored and recognized at a designated meeting. If the committee decides that the club does not have a qualified recipient, the award will be carried over to the next year. A plaque recognizing the club member will also be presented.
